Post by crush »

:sad5: Down pipe broke off my SSEi on the highway yesterday. I have a spear on SE need to figure out how to swap them. looks like an engine pull to me. Also is their anything I can do to make them flow better while I have them off.

don't know how, that really concerns me. I'm hoping clogged cat and bad weld. It was acting stopped up sense I got it 4 months ago. Started sounding like it was getting a exhaust leak 2 weeks ago and the boost gage started act weird (jumpy and seemed to run higher than usual also) then too. Camera is busted too, I plan on getting new one SOON!!!

The downpipes and or manifolds can be swapped w/o pulling the engine. Opening up flow on the DP usually reduces torque.

Don't increase the downpipe diameter on a 92 SSEi. Use a stock part.

You can remove the manifold to the driver's side as long as you pull the downpipe studs out of the flange first.

Thanks, just got home from work, and thats some great news not having to pull the motor  . Is there anything major in my way on driver side? Now I need to go look at what I'm getting into again.
