passenger head light?

Post by irish91983 »

Hi all
I cleared out my corner lights a few moths back and I noticed today that i have condensation in my passenger side head light. What should I use to seal it up?

buy a new headlight.....search the internet for an aftermarket one, my only opinion then spending time on the headlight, amongst other problems you'll have eventually.....Love Bonneville's, yet once my headlights got condensation, that's when the bulbs go next......save your bulbs and buy a new headlight.

I think people have used black RTV. Do the old slighty heat in oven to make it factory stuff gooey, pull apart, reseal.

I ran into the same issue when I cleared mine. I did what other suggested, simply heat it back up and reseal. I did use black RTV to reseal mine, and made sure the bead was nice and smooth. I did this by sticking my finger in water and running along the silicone, really helped smooth it out and seal any areas that may leak.

That's absurd. $5 in a good sealant or a little time with the oven will do just as much as a new headlight housing will.

I also thought that buying a new head light was a little extreme. But I do appericate the advice. I was thinking I just using the black rtv didn't think to use the oven. Thanks for all the help :beerchug:
