Engine Hesitation/Stumbling/Backfiring

Post by white06lacrossecxs »

My 01 Park Avenue Ultra started having a problem today. While driving the engine started stumbling on acceleration and it has stalled taking off from a light a couple of times. I think it may have backfired once or twice. It will usually do it when shifting from first to second. The RPM on the tach also fluctuates a little. The SERVICE ENGINE SOON light isn't coming on. The cars transmission fluid was low. Filled it and its improved some but still going on. Any ideas?

When did it last have a good tune up? Plugs, wires, fuel and air filters?

They were done about 2 or 3 years ago. We took it to the shop, the mechanic replaced a vacuum line, and the plugs and he says its better but still a bit rough. He noticed the front motor mount is shot. Hopefully the issue is resolved soon, its a pain being short a vehicle in the family.
