Theftloc radios

Post by dandyd »

I have a 2000 Lesabre.....battery was replaced, and now the Theftloc radio shows "Loc"---I Googled all the procedures with holding the 2-3 button and the 1-4 button for 10-15sec. or so....and it did not work continues to show "Loc"----am I doing something wrong? Additionally, if I get it to work what is the Buick Dealership Code when you call the number listed to get the password for the radio? Radio also only lists "Theftloc" and NOT "RDS"

Thanks

I'm not sure how the LeSabre's are, but the 2000+ Bonneville radio's can only be programmed by the dealer with a Tech2.

Thanks, I thought that the Tech2 was specific for the RDS radios, but maybe not...guess the dealership will want an arm and a leg for a 5 minutes button or 2 push-push

Did you get this resolved dandyd? Our Park avenue had the same problem. The dealer service department can help you. They can do a look up for the code and give it to you. They Buick dealer here only charged us $7 to do it.

Issue was resolved by going to dealership as this radio could only be unlocked with the GM Tech2 service tool It took all of about 90 seconds, and they did not charge me.

Wow, that's one helluva dealer! Mine charges $25 for any time the Tech II is hooked up. I suppose it's their minimum labor charge or whatever.
