What color is your car?
Since the tint won't make your car perform better, I'll move your topic to the proper section.

Re: tint out taillights
In my opionion the 92-95 SSEi tail lights look so much better non tinted. Our Bonneville tailights look great from the factory, I think tinting them just hides the orginality of our tail light designs. Just my honest opinion.thelycan1121 wrote:i was wantin to tint my tail lights and wanted some opinions, and to see if it would look bad ass

Re: tint out taillights
I only suggest tint if your taillights are severely delaminated (where the black plastic pulls away from the lens). I liked my tint 2 years ago when I was 17, lol. Now it's kinda meh and I wanna do something different. However, my tails are de-lam'd and needed tint to cover that up.

Re: tint out taillights
Exactly. Lol. I believe it a nice "temporary" fix. I don't like clear tail lights either. Like clearing the organge lenses looks great. But leave the red part red. Once again, just my opion. And one that doesn't really apply to Bonnevilles, I've never seen the red taken out before.00Beast wrote:I only suggest tint if your taillights are severely delaminated (where the black plastic pulls away from the lens). That's the only kind of cleared I like too. I've seen one car that removed the red and it looked weird.

Re: tint out taillights
I keep hearing cries of 'you'll get pulled over' and laugh. I've been tinted since 2003 on the Zilla, and at least 3 years on the SLE. I've never been pulled over for tint or even warned.
SSE/SSEi taillights from 92-95 are notorious for delamination. That's the only reason I'm tinted.

Never been pulled over for it on my SSEi in 2 years either. Been pulled over for speeding twice and never had it even mentioned.

Re: tint out taillights
This. I also don't find the GXP taillights any more attractive than the normal tails. The lines in the tail lights are one of the things that distinctly make the car a Pontiac. On the '01 I taped off those black lines and painted a gloss black over them. It was a total PITA, but if you've got the patience to tape that off neatly it pays off if you want to keep the stock look and hide the delamination without buying new lights or tinting.99BonnevilleSE wrote:In my opionion the 92-95 SSEi tail lights look so much better non tinted. Mine were tinted to hide delamination on the '93. I got bothered twice with verbal warnings and eventually found a non-delaminated set of lights and replaced it. As far as the '01 goes I haven't been bothered with those being tinted yet, granted it's only been 3 months and they're not that dark. Getting called out by the law depends on where you are and how you drive. If you're hauling arse all around town or doing something dumb, you're asking for it.
