AC Water leak

Post by goochman »

I tried to search but all the other water leak issues came up - I believe its pretty common for the AC lines to get jammed and release water into the passenger foot well. Does anyone have any pictures on where to unclog this?

After messing with all the drain tubes I drove home today and at the end of the ride there was water in the passenger footwell (I was running the AC) - So I think this might be the cause vs the sunroof drain tubes.

Thanks in advance!

If you smell antifreeze then it's your heater core.

Personally, I would start examining the door panel water reflector sheilds that comonly come unglued. They are common causes of water in the carpets. I reglued all my sheilds - they all ended up failing at certain points. Check front then back sheilds. You can test them first by having someone running water on the window while you look for leaks that may spill out and over the door sill.

Ive a bit more looking around and am still confused on where the water is coming from. The sunroof drains appear to be clear - the door shields appear to be ok also.

There was mention of a draingage tube for the AC Evaporator core getting clogged. I found more water in the front well after driving with the AC on which is why I suspect this.

IM trying to dry out the passenger side before testing again since there is so much water under the carpet.......Is it easy to take the seat out and put it back in (besides the weight)? Are there any pics on removing a seat somewhere?

I saw your post on the passenger sunroof drain tube spot - glad you verified this as this as I could not find it. Hanging upside down might be my next move. Can you see the connector point or do you need to cut something away to get to it?
