2000 ssei rear window fell down

Post by Troyport »

Mom's car... left rear window just dropped. Right rear did the same thing a few years back, Mom got the part and I installed it, but I don't know what part to get. Seems to me the whole regulator assembly from Dorman maybe? I don't remember.. I'm not interested in a used part. Please advise.. thanks! Mike

It's the regulator. You can fix it IIRC. Never had to do it, someone else will chime in w/ the fix.
Bye Bye:

It was written when regulators were around $200. You can pick them up on Ebay now for less than $100, although I have heard that the motors may be weaker.

It is called the 'Pop-n'-Drop syndrome. It happens to all GM vehicles more often than any other make.. I have been through 4 of them in the 3 years I had my car.

I spent around $50.00 as recently as last summer on a regulator for my car, It was a lot better than the $30.00 one. Motors don't need replacing in 99.9% of these issues. Purchase the regulator without the motor, and re-use the motor
