HVAC control knobs

Post by grey3800 »

Hello Everyone, I have the manual HVAC control setup, the vent selector knob (right most) has been getting harder and harder to turn. So hard sometimes when its cold in the morning I don't force it for fear it will break. When it does turn, it twists beyond the designated "steps" to get to the desired position.

Do I need to replace the unit? Or lubricate with graphite, WD-40?

I would try lubricating it and see if that helps. You might want to see if you can locate one at a junkyard as a replacement / backup.
