2001 SSEI heated seats and ac
2001 SSEI heated seats and ac
New member/SSEI owner looking for a little advice on the heated seats not working, AC not working and solving tps sensor warning light... Seems the heated seat light comes on, but then goes off after about 2 seconds. Don't really know where to start on that one. I'm a previous jeep owner, as for the ac they all had bad evaporators - does this pertain to GM/bonnes also? The dash is telling check tire pressure, it is fine, any pointers? Thanks for any help...

What exactly with the AC doesn't work? Doesn't blow cold air? Vents don't work? etc...
There are no tire pressure sensors on the Bonnevilles, they only use the wheel speed sensors to detect if one tire is turning slower than the others. If you have indeed manually checked all the pressures, and they are within 1-2 psi of eachother, you can reset the warning by going to the tire pressure on the DIC, and holding reset for about 10 seconds or until it clears.

Re: 2001 SSEI heated seats and ac
heated seats seems to be the number one FAQ with these cars.
Re: 2001 SSEI heated seats and ac
Thanks a bunch, I'll give the tps reset a shot as the tires are all close - with that said, I don't know about as close as 1-2 psi. As for the AC, not cold. I'm pretty decent with cars and repairs but have no experience with a bonneville so I was just looking for a little cheat sheet to get started. Thanks for the link to the seats. I appreciate all your help. I'm sure I'll bug you later about the next "bug" I need to fix.

Is the compressor running? What is the pressure of the system?

Re: 2001 SSEI heated seats and ac
Compressor wont kick on so pressure is probably low, I know jeeps are terrible for evaporators and I was wondering if GM's were the same. Working out some bugs today: Rear window regulators not working, got a quote $175 each?? Holy cow. Can these be "repaired" or do I need to shell out the bucks. One last question, I'm missing a center cap. I have the part #, is that a dealer item? Again, thanks for helping me out...

Or I sell working used ones for $50.
The 01 chrome center caps are hard to find. You might find one on ebay, but they will be expensive from the dealer.
