99 Aurora won't start

This is my ma's car. She owns a 99 Aurora like me, and when she goes to start it up this morning to go to work, it won't start. I assumed it was a dead battery, but when I tried to turn it over it wouldn't even try to start. All the accessories turn on, headlights, stereo, fans, etc. But when I turn the key.. nothing. What the heck?

Get underneath it, and give a swift tap the wall of the starter. Not hard, hard. Not with a hammer, but enough to deliver some "grunt" without damage type of hit. Sounds like the brushes on the armature inside got hung up on the inside wall of the starter. This is a sign the starter armature has too much "play" in it and is wearing out.

By tapping it, you're breaking it loose again.
