02 sensor
which 02 sensor is responsible for the code cat sys efficiency below level bank 1. Is that upstream or downstream. Do i need to replace both of them.

It's downstream, after the cat. Could be a bad sensor or it could be the sensor is reporting correctly and you need a new cat.

There is a different code if the O2 is bad. However, you might want to replace it just to be sure. It is the downstream one, as said before.

If the cat is bad, does it make a rattling noise? I noticed the thin metal that covers the downstream cat. It is reveted on, do i revet them back on or just use bolts? thanks!

Yes, if the cat is rattling it is bad.
The shielding covers the wires and needs to be removed. I used self-tapping screws when I did mine.
