I cut my teeth on a 92 Plus (dad owned it from new and I was riding it from day one), I loved that sled, took a crap load of skill to keep up with the 700-800's in the trails, but I earned a ton or respect from everyone I rode with for my abbilitly to keep up.

Got some good lookin machines here. Ed, if you don't mind me asking, why did you get a mountain sled?

I need to get some pics of mine here. It's evolved a bit since last year.

Just because there aren't any mountains in MN doesn't mean that there aren't places to ride that a mountain sled offers a huge advantage!

It was for sale with 540 miles, Joe. You don't find that every day.

Just like said above, the Mountain Cat is amazing in all kinds of conditions and terrains. You can literally sit on top of powder and be able to take off, no matter how deep.

Heres my buddys '92 Plus.....after we got done working on it tonight. He got it like Dec 20th(?), for $20 from this guy he knew. Hit a culvert or a tree or something. Its just a ditch banger for the most part, he used to have an Arctic Cat Thundercat about 15yrs ago.

Image

This is what was broken, pull side suspension was all jammed up.......found one from a guy on http://www.dootalk.com , $15. Bastards are hard to track down....
Image

Scene in the garage tonight...
Image

Fought with this.....need heat, used some MAP gas
Image

Back together....
Image

Back on the ground....
Image

We pulled the track a couple days after he got it, 2 idler wheels are shot(If you know, you will see whats wrong), should be in tmw....
Image

All in all got a lot done tonight, also the sway bar was outta the mount on the clutch side, dropped it down and it went right back in.

My exhaust (well the pipe) come tmw, so Ill get more pics of mine and before and after vids of exhaust.
I got this thread going for my Mach 1 http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 10&t=22668
I was trying to get the 2 vids I do have on photobucket but i think its being a biznatch, maybe my connection.

Wow. 540 miles is like brand new!

Looks like you guys were busy there. I can't see any rubber on that idler wheel.

It might be useful.

Well, ended up not being so bad as of this afternoon.

My sled crapped out last night, and my buddys formula was having idle issues. Was running ok but would stumble every so often. Threw in a half can of SeaFoam when I filled it up so I thought maybe it was crap loosening up in the carbs, so was like 'Whatever, just ride' lol.

Had to tow my Mach back to my buddys house and leave it there for the night. Went back today with some new plugs. My buddy said he changed to a diff plug this morning and all is issues were gone when he went on a little jaunt. Changed mine, 2 primer pumps, one pull, and runs better than ever!!!! I got more pull on the top end now and no more popping/hesitation.

So all is good!!!!

We had about 7 sleds out riding today, i ran out of gas in the middle of the bay LOL. i told my buddy dalton on the way to his ole ladys house "hey, we need to stop so i can get gas. " he said "oh we'll just ride up the river and get gas at the speedway!" well THAT never happened. so, ran outta gas. Was a good thing we stopped though, because the DNR were starting to crack down on people without trail stickers. I haven't had the money to get one yet, lol

Only problems i have now, is:

Hand warmers aren't doing their job. (suspect a wire came undone)
Had some squeakage in the belt.... hoping it's not ready to blow. doesn't look to bad. just replaced it last year before the season started. (suspect water coming up thru the tie rod boots and getting on ze belt.)

I was thinking about HID's in the Mountain Cat, then talked to a guy who sells them and said they won't work with a stator well. Are those designed differently to accommodate that?
