Good setup for $250ish?

Good setup for $250ish?

Post by BearNinja »

Hey guys I'm looking to change my setup a little to save space and improve SQ. I currently have a couple kenwood 3011's but they are pretty meh to me. I really don't need insane volume, so any suggestions? Here's what I have so far:

Maybe you could tell us about the rest of your setup (beyond the 3011's) before asking us how to make it better?

What head unit do you have? (Stock? Aftermarket? By who? What model?)
What amplifier do you have?
What door and rear deck speakers do you have?

^^^^ :btruestory:

I had some infinity kappa perfects for while that I thought was eh. Put a better amp on them, and put a aftermarket cd player in and WOW!!!

If you are looking for just a sub, I had nothing but good experiences with Kenwood excelon kfc-xw1224d
I had two of em hooked up to a Kenwood excelon x1200m amp and I could pound em all day and they wouldn't even break a sweat. Pure sq subs. They are a little spendy though if you are looking to spend $250ish on a sub AND a box and amp, as they are $220 a piece.

the enclosure could be better, i dont really like prefab boxes.
but if you are willing to spend just a little more to build your own then do it, tune it around 44 hz

but the setup who are showing us is pretty good.
you can wire the subs down to 2 ohms.
the amp is rated at 500 rms at 2 ohms so itll be pushin 2x the rms of the sub almost which is reall good
95 bonny sse WALLED.
-new build in progress-
Iraggi HO alt - 320 amp (added "sense" wire and 5k pot, 15.4v)
2 DC Level 5 18s
Cactus Sounds K12
4 runs of 1/0
14 batts.
Mtx 4244 and (2) kicker ix404
