Oh man,
I hope Andrew gets done with his Thanksgiving bird soon! This car is looking great! I had to go back to page one to compare. As always, I couldn't believe the difference. Great show!

Off topic: Someone backed into my G6 over the weekend and scraped the heck out my rear bumper. No note, just took off. I wish someone in my area would repaint rear bumpers for $200 and make them look that great again!

Great work Andrew. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I spent a few hours on the car today. Installed the door handle, removed the passenger side pinstriping. Found a way better technique. For the driver side pin striping, I used a rag soaked in lacquer thinner and my finger nail, it took about an hour to do the whole side. For the passenger side, I used a magic eraser soaked in lacquer thinner, took about 3 minutes. Granted the magic erasers are essentially a fine grit sandpaper, and before polishing it out, it looked like I had took some 2000 grit paper to the area. But after a quick polish, it looks great. I spent a while polishing on the hood and trunk, but more needs to be done. I have quite a bit of homework due tomorrow and wednesday, so hopefully I can finish it up on Thursday and get some finished pics. We are getting some serious snow dumped on us tonight (10-12 inches), so the pics will probably be indoor.

Finished up polishing today, and then took it to the carwash to clean the engine (wrong order, I know)... when I started the car after the powerwashing, it was misfiring like crazy, so I decided to install some new plugs and wires. I also cleaned up the coils and ICM plate. When removing the old wires, each one of them fell apart in my hands, pulling apart like yarn.

I've been having excellent luck with craigslist since I started a new account with a new IP.

While this one might be priced a little out of reach, with the amount of calls I got on the tan one it proves there is still a high demand for these cars. Plus, I'm in no rush to sell it since I just sold another one this week. I'd settle for $4500 at this point.

Well I came upon a small glitch in the program. Someone wanted to come test drive the car, so I cleared off the snow and took it to the car-wash to get all the ice-crap off it. After a quick jaunt down the highway to blow off the water, I noticed that the tranny wasn't going into overdrive. Looks like I'll be doing another 4th clutch shaft before I can sell this one. Have parts on order, but not sure when I'll have time to get to it. I'm not in any rush.

Picked up a 4th clutch shaft on ebay for $56 shipped (after I realized I had one in the basement, LOL). Picked up the channel plate and valve body gaskets and a new PCS from a local trans shop for $52. They had the gaskets for $3 each and a Borg Warner PCS for $40, much better than any online pricing I found. I told them how I was going be replacing the 4th clutch shaft and asked if they had ever done that instead of a full rebuild.... he said too many times to count. They even do the it the same way I was going to do, dropping the side of the subframe to get the cover off. I asked how much to just have him do all the labor, $325. Very tempting. I think I might just do it instead of messing around with it for a whole weekend. I guess it just depends on how much money a weekend of work is worth to me.

This is your business Andrew.
How much do you value your time?
I would say it's well worth $30/hr compared to a shop rate of $75/hr
If it's a 4 hour labour job then $325 for them is $120 for you or difference of $200.

So if whatever you have planned is worth $200 then grab your clutch shaft and get to work.

It's a lot more than 4 hour job, probably more like 10-12 hours for me.

I'm just frustrated with this car, and I don't wanna do the tranny twice on it. If I have the shop do it, its guaranteed to work, and I could have it sold by the weekend possibly. I do have the time, just not the drive.
