vinyl wrap on roof???

Post by reycycle »

I own an 03 ssei (white) and was looking at newer cars that have the whole roof black like the mercedes s500's . I like this look. I think my bonny would look sweet. I was wondering if i could use a vinyl wrap rather than paint. any suggestions or thoughts on this or even someone here that might sell suck a product. thanks. oh and how do i upload an image for my profile pic?

Since the 00+ have a seperate roof panel, a vinyl wrap can be done right since it wouldn't be left with any bare edges. I can't think of a Bonne here with it, but lots of other cars have it done. I think it would look pretty good on a white one. I don't have any suggestions for where to get it done, but lots of local type custom auto shops do wraps frequently.

For the profile pic, go to the user control panel in the upper right, click on profile on the left, then edit signature (stuff below your posts) or avatar (pic below screen name on the left).

It looks good in their pics, but idk. Let us know how well it works. Just be aware that once it's on, it's on, as well as make sure you don't have bubbles under it. Might not be a bad idea to find someone who has experience w/ it in your area to help you apply it. Enough to do your roof can't be cheap...

Seems like an interesting idea. I'd like to see pics when you get around to doing this if you do.

You can get that stuff in all sorts of colors and lustres.
I reccomend you take it to a tint or wrap shop though as that stuff is a PITA to work with.

Ive thought about it on my car to cover the huge clearcoat peeling of failure but i doubt it will ever happen for me (GP GXP! :))

like haro said, the bottom video clearly shows a woman putting it on then readjusting as needed. It looks pretty cool. I'd love to see someone use this.

Lots of times you can use foaming glass cleaner or the like to keep it from sticking and then using a hand squeegee to press it on once your happy with it.
