I've had GXP wheels on my car since late '04 (takeoffs with Goodyear RSA's) -- when I bought the car from mom with 71k on it..) And I found a deal on some RSA EMT's in 235 50 18 and stored them at my office/warehouse for a while.. finally mounted them last fall.. All I can say is AMEN I kept the miles low on them, and sold them for more than I bought the set for.. Bring to September 2010 -- I drove the SSEi on a business trip to Virginia and had it with the rough a$$ run flats -- I found a set of Michelin Pilot HX MXM4's for ~600 on Discount Tire Direct with 5% discount, and $70 mail in rebate.. -- Had a good friend/head Caddy mechanic mount/balance and align (after replacing my destroyed 2 outer tie rod ends -- BTW we share the same ones with some Caddy's and its like a brand new car again.. Could not be any happier with the quietness and ride quality of this tire for the $$$.. I still have Pirelli Runflats on my V.. and its like a horse and buggy compared to these for the ride.. I'll take some pics tomorrow -- an excellent looking tire as well..

I am glad someone is happy with their Michelin Pilot HX MXM4's. I think they are a piece of s41+!! My wife bought an new '09 CTS August '08 and both front tires were defective on delivery. I took it to the Michelin dealer (Discount Tire). They had to pull 3 tires to get 2 good ones. The car has 17k miles on it and have had to have 2 more tires replaced. The only good thing I can say about Michelin is they and Discount have treated me really well! These tires are nylon cord and the car hops and jumps around like a jumping bean until they get warm. No performance tire for a car like a Caddy should have nylon in them. Kevlar, yes - nylon, NO, "H311 NO"!!! I will never own a performance Michelin tire with nylon in it ever again! A real piece of junk. Goodyears have Kevlar in them.

i sell tires at sears and i need tires on my grand prix.. the tires im buying are the michelin pilot A/S 2.. in the 235/55/17 they are about $170 each.. other then that i would go with the good year responce edge.. they are about 50$ cheaper..
the 225/60/16 should be cheaper..
but thats what i would say.. and i know the next person you ask will say somthing diff.. read tirerack user reviews.. take a look at the tires and just remeber; you get what you pay for...
I just put Continental DSW 245/50/17s on my car after living with Michelin Pilot Sports for too long. It's like having a new car because these tires are far quieter, smoother and as a real bonus, I'm getting 2-3 more mpg. They also handle just as well as the Michelins.
Are these the Primacy MXM4's? Those are the good ones, the Energy and other MXM4's aren't very good. The Primacy's are excellent from what I've heard.

I think it largely depends on the vehicle.. I wouldn't put Goodyears on a bicycle.. but they performed well for 60k+ miles.. Cadillac could not have done a *worse* job than the Pirelli Eurphoi@ Run Flats on my STS-V -- there is no bigger POS tire known to man kind!!

Correct; They are not the 'Sport' Version ..I will post photos of the tread, sidewalls, etc tomorrow.. Very quiet, and smooth tire. I am running 32.5 lbs in them.

What speed ratings can be had on the tires discussed here? I'm looking for new tires on my summer rims and wouldn't consider anyting less than 'H' rated. If the cost isn't too crazy I would even consider 'V,W or Z' rated tires.... just in case...

I’ve owned three sets of Firestones and the Oldest son has owned two sets of Bridgestones. Neither of us would ever own another set of either. They didn’t have a long tread life and had poor traction. One set I had was the Indy 500’s, they were the worst of the sets.

MY cousin has a new fusion with the turanza serenitys by bridgestone. That makes 3 ppl now that have told me they are the best all season performance/touring tire on the market

Current mods - FWI, Intense 1.0 PCM, 3.4"- 3.5", Intense MPS, AL 104s, 180 Stat , Intense/TG shiftkit, Aeroforce Interceptor scan gauge
Like was said earlier, every brand and even line has it's good models and bad models. Look at reviews for each specific tire and do not assume those carry over to every other bridgestone tire, or even other lines of the same model. Tread pattern, material, design, size, date of manufacture, etc all are variables in a tire.
