electric windows

Post by dwight »

anybody know of any links i can go to, to find wiring diagrams for bonny 2000 ssei. I need a manual really but haven't found one but i haven't looked very hard either. Anyway now none of my windows will go up or down, i think i shorted something out, all mini-fuses were ok, is their a relay or maxi-fuse that controls the windows. I would appreciate the help, thanks. dwight

I can hook you up with any wiring diagram you want, but you'll have to be more specfic as there are a ton of them.

However, I think your problems are going to be related to a door module or door switch, not the wiring.

I agree with you! If the driver's module is bad, that wouldn't keep the back window module from working, would it?

I'm dealing with the same issue in my green 2000 SSEi. None of the windows work. I wasn't really planning on fixing it today, but for your sake, I'll swap in a new door module and see what happens. If it does fix it, I have several for sale if you need one.

Also in a reply posted about windows. It was mentioned about grounds under carpet by kick panel. It showed a pic but i could not find it. I'm sure the grounds need to be cleaned but i don't really know what or where i'm looking for, as their are a lot of wiring and switches on this bonny. I long for the cars back in the day, they were so much simpler. lol

Ok, I'm gonna need some clarification on your problem. When you say all the windows don't work, does that mean you only tried from the driver door? Did you try each of the door switches by themselves?

I just looked into the problem on my green one. None of the windows worked from the drivers door, but each window worked fine when using the switch on that door. Nothing on the driver door was working, including the windows, locks, mirror switch or memory seating. I simply replaced the driver door master switch, and it instantly fixed all those problems. The master switch is kinda the second brain for the door, other than the door module.

Its pretty common for these switches to go bad, especially if the door panel ever got wet (car gets rained/snowed on) with the window open.

the driver's side and the rear passenger on driver's will not operate from driver's module, nor will the rear window module operate the window, both front and rear passengers windows don't work either. Also the door locks on all 4 doors do not work, as also the mirrors. Are the modules and switches 2 different things?

I think you have the modules and switches confused.

The switch is the switch, the module is the box inside the door, (pictured here on the left: http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv11 ... G_5002.jpg)

Your new description of the problem is quite confusing, and I have read it several times. Can you re-word it?

Are you sure your regulators are working correctly?

Usually, the window drops down and won't go up. The cable pulls out of the plastic retainer.

However, there are other ways for them to fail.

I had a similar issue a few months back, my back drivers side window would work 1 day and wouldnt the next , i was thinking it was a bad relay so i checked *dang* near fused my finger to it(HOT) but it was good so popped off the door panel and didnt see anything. I follow the wires through the door and found this
