Multi-function switch (TCC/ABS switch) on brake pedal?

Post by evelandba »

Trying to find a multi-function switch thats listed in my Chilton's. It's displayed as a tcc/abs switch, but I cant find it and without the part number off of it, i can't get any info from the dealership on it (They said it was on the brake pedal itself, but all I saw was the brake light switch.). It has two wires (according to Chilton's), one purple and one gray or brown (I think). One of the wire taps off into the transmission solenoids I believe if I am reading the wiring diagram correctly. Any ideas on where, what, and what it does? Maybe a part # too would be cool. Thanks all!!

Your 94 could be different but the 99 factory service manual shows it right next to the brake switch. In 99 there is a four wire connector going to the switch. Brown, purple, tan & black wires. What makes you think the switch is bad?

Sorry for the delay in responding, when I press the brake from time to time and try to get back on it, it seems as if the torque converter clutch is still on. Also, there will be a "buzz" from under the hood and my brake pedal is VERY stiff. When I tap the brake again, it seems to fix itself for a little while. I am replacing the ignition control module and all 4 trans solenoids on Friday and will see if that fixes it. If not, that switch is highly suspect. I have replaced the PCM/ECM, park-neutral safety switch, coolant temp sensor, full tune-up, power flush and filter for the transmission, replaced front struts and passenger lower ball joint so far.
