Re: removing door panel
Pop the whole courtesy light out. Be very careful, they break. I use a small flat blade screw driver on the rear end first.
Remove the two or three screws along the bottom and up the front.
There's a screw behild the pop-out plate behind the release handle.
There might be one behind the mirror control... can't remember.
The the panel will be hanging by the top edge. Can't remember the best way to pull that off. Up and carefully probably.

yep, you have to shove your arm way up in there and operate a 10mm wrench or socket to remove 2 nuts. and operate means tiny turns of the nut. slow and steady wins the race though.
Re: removing door panel
ya its not gonna be easy, at least now i know what size wrench i need. and now i know how to take the door panel off for some future mods i have in mind.

Re: removing door panel
I have replaced several of those and never been able to get even a small ratchet/ socket in there, it will only work for the easier nut.... Sears i believe sells ratcheting wrenches singly, getting the mirror out and back in is SOOO easy if you have one.

Re: removing door panel
A ratcheting box end wrench would be the best tool for this job. I've done it to with a normal open ended wrench, and it was a pain.
