my wiper dont always work. have to twist the knob over and over and over to get them to turn on. i was wondering if their is a relay thats sticking somewhere and where can i find it? or is it just a switch(when u turn the knob) that activates the control box to turn on the wipers?
also another quick easy question about something else. my hid wasnt working so i checked the fuse and it wasnt blown, but the plastic around the fuse was melted. would would cause that? too much current for that style of fuse? i was thinking of changing the fuse and holder to a glass style. would that help?

Re: wipers not working
There is definitely a switch, and I think there is also a relay. I'll go through my repair bills when I get home, but I had to replace a number of parts for my wipers including the wiper transmission. I'm not sure how expensive these parts get, you might do best pulling them at a wrecker.
Plastic around fuses melts when the fuses get hot from lots of current going through them, and the whole point of fuses is to blow when too much current goes through them. Make sure the correct value fuse is in that location. Changing physical fuse types shouldn't generally make a difference, the fuses that the car was designed for are typically sufficient for everybody else. You might need to clean corrosion off the terminals the fuse blades connect to. Disconnect the battery and use some fine emery cloth or something to clean them, and make sure whatever circuits the fuse protects are actually working correctly, and you should be good to go.

Re: wipers not working
mine has a similliar problem....there is a computer board in the wiper motor assembly, that is usually the problem (typical GM)
if you have delay wipers. mine wont turn on unless turned to fast... then they work
its tomorrows project.

Re: wipers not working
hey GMC Guy, mine has this issue also, they will not turn on unless turned to fast. I would be interested to know if you have success fixing the problem, I'll most likely take the same steps to repair mine.

Re: wipers not working
sounds is a common problem, well let us know what u find. on the fuse issue, its a 30amp inline fuse that came with the wire kit for the hid lights.

Re: wipers not working
Mine seems to be fixed with the board replacement ...will post about it in detail later
