TC trashed, now fixed
TC trashed, now fixed
So are wondering about my tranny from WCBF. Found a stripped out TC. Intense inputshaft was 100%, chain is 100%, and diff is 100%. I was running an ATI 3500 stall and it ripped the teeth right out of it causing instant power loss to the wheels. Engine still ran fine. No gears. Like Wren said we tried to diagnose it at the track, didn't find any broken flexplate or TC bolts, and no fluid was leaking, and no noise. So I decided to just pull the engine on a hunch it was that general area and sure enough the TC input teeth were toast. Bought a new converter and put it back in last night. Not all together yet, but so far the wheels go into drive again, so that should be the fix.

That's weird. No warranty on a TC like that?

Look at an in-line filter to catch the stuff the in-pan filter won't.
Re: TC trashed, now fixed
There is only a one year warranty on the TC from ATI and I bought it used, so it is long gone. New converter is in. Drove it yesterday for a few trips around town. Feels great.
