Waiting for you Matt. Stop off at Napa and see if they have an outer tie-rod end for a 79 Firebird. Bet it won't be on the shelf though. Passenger side but I think they're both the same....maybe we should do both.

Bill was looking at the infamous mount breakage and found that the chain and bolt both held. The failure was the plate that is bolted to the cross-member.
They hire idiots at parts counters around here!
Had to order the $35 tie-rod end from Portland but it'll be here first thing in the morning.
Found out what stripped Bill's SC belt. The tensioner was fragged. Stop tab broken off. Luckily he had a spare on the shelf.
Had to go back to Napa because they gave him the wrong length belt.
The new trani mount is in the stages of being modified. Bill will elaborate on the new and improved design for the "Made in Taiwan" part.

Zilla's mount is fixed. New mount modified (#7 now), and installed. Tensioner is replaced (caused supercharger belt shreddage), and street testing in an effort to break the new mount will be underway on the way to dinner with the crew in about 10 minutes.

Thanks man. Ya, they're the original dual quads that Smokie and the Bandit ran. They came stock on all the 6.6 L engines.
I'm running true dual 2 1/2" out of the Hooker headers into a X pipe and into twin Magnaflows. Sounds much better than the SSEi Magnaflows.
We're all sitting here in Bill's man cave watching WCBF08 videos and reminiscing (sp) and planning for the Coast run blast..............should be a good one.

Good relaxing day of working on the cars. We determined the weak spot in my failed mount, and reinforced the new one, transferring my adjustable bolt/bushing setup to it, but not the safety chain from #6. I'll try to break this one in the next couple days.
