replacing rear bench seat with split 60/40 foldable in 93SE

Discuss washing, waxing and detailing information as well as interior/exterior cosmetic modifications. This includes neons, body, cosmetic wheels, etc. Even under the hood detailing.

Are you wanting access to the trunk? Not possible without cutting out the wall behind the backseat.

Been awhile since i had the back seat out, but i don't remember the back wall being particularly substantial or necessary. But the folding seats procured from another vehicle will need something up top to latch to. Also there might be clearance issues with the hinges of a folding seat. Seat belts are yet another issue. It will probably either be a hacked up job, or require a lot of fabrication.

Is there an H-body with folding rear seats?

This does seem like a prett interesting modification for me..i would also like for my rear seat to fold down. I am interested in knowing of any other H body cars have a folding rear seat that would somewhat "fit" into place, along with some modifications.

Interesting topic I would like to get more information on!

Are there rear/side airbags to worry about in those cars?

Not in the backseat. But, I'd be concerned with re-locating everything bolted to the backseat, as well as finding a seat that matches the size and design of the Bonneville's interior. Not to be a doubting Thomas, but unless you know exactly what you're doing, it's gonna end up being a nightmare. I fit 4 6'+ guys and their golf clubs in my SSEi. I thought the 92-99's had a bigger trunk?

There is metal bracing that blocks most of that opening. Having seen a shell of a 96, I can attest to that.

i have a picture if i can send to someone to post it up because on my 93 the pastic piece takes up most if the space but if you would like to take full advantage of the space you might want to trim or fold the metal back toward the top

Here is a pic of mine form our gallery showing the bracing behind the seat for those years.
