Turn signal gremlins (02 SSEi)

Post by 1994se »

So i leave my lady friends house today and signal to turn onto 31. no clicks, no light on the gauge cluster nothing... So I'm like what's going on here. I bought new mini fuses then went to the bar in my friends car. Come home, sure enough fuse 36 under the rear seat is cashed so i swap it out with one of the new ones then get back in the drivers seat and hit the hazards to check. From what i could see, atleast the front ones flash once then die, so I am guessing the fuse blew again. What's the deal? My next plan of action is to change all the bulbs but otherwise i am lost. Any ideas?

You likely have a short in the wiring, or a problem with the turn signal/hazard flasher. That is part of the hazard flasher switch in the right vent assembly. Pry around the sides of that to pop it out to reach that. You could start by disconnecting it to see if the fuse still blows.

Wires to the turn signal bulbs got pinched between the body and one of the studs that holds the tail light on and shorted. All is well. Probably could have checked that myself but wanted to get some advice on other common problems the night before if i could. Thanks for the reply.

OK I know that this is an old thread, but I am having a similar issue. When I turn on the left blinker no light on the dash. Are there two fuses for the blinkers? If so, Which ones?

Thanks in advance.
