WEIRD..help please. Parking lights won't turn off..new cd pl
So over the past two days I have installed a new CD player, amp, and subwoofer in my car. Got everything hooked up last night and ran into a little problem-the parking lights stay on all of time time. I didn't mess with any of the lighting connections. I added a wiring harness to allow the stereo to connect, and ran two wires from the stereo, one to the amp, and one directly to the battery, as most installations require. What would be causing the parking lights to stay light at all times? and yes, i checked the switch , and the delay, and all of that. The lights simply do not turn off. What might be wrong??

- 120,xxx miles,180° thermostat, cold air intake with k&n filter and heat shield, CB radio (it's necessary),
- cleared headlights and tail lights, new tires, Sylvania Silverstar* 9005 High Performance high-beams,
- Sony X-Plodes, Scangauge 2

If you pull the fuse for the lights, do the lights go out?

yes the lights do go out when i remove the fuse.

THIS is the key. Presumably, if you disconnect the stereo harness, your lights will go out. From there you just have to consult a wiring schematic and see what you did. Generally the lights have a lifted (open) ground when they're off, and a connected ground when they're on, so you probably have a wire grounded that shouldn't be.willwren wrote:If you disconnect the stereo harness, do the lights go out?
