Backyard camber adjustment

Post by Backhoe »

Well thanks to Jrs3800 my shifting problem has been solved, the only issue remaining is adjustment of camber (short term due to financial constraints) I plan on having the alignment done professionally, but for now I have tried twice, and have ended up with a substantial negative camber on both sides. Does anybody have any tips for self adjustment? I am considering marking and then slightly loosening the bolts and tapping the assembly, but it seems a little inaccurate, any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Usually a camber kit has to be installed on the car to adjust it, but if both back tires have a negative camber, the biggest offender is a sagging rear end usually. I think you are probably just going to have to keep rotating the tires for the moment.

Sorry, I guess I should have mentioned that I just finished installing a replacement trans, and after reassembling the front end, the camber was way out. It appears the lower bolt-hole is a slight oval allowing for minor adjustment, but adjusting seems to be trial and error.

You can get the camber close with a level and two parallel bars.
