Figured I would take advantage of the pretty day and show my niece and son how to change rear brake hoses. All went well and smooth till bleed time, very little flow or pressure at passenger side wheel.
After a bit I decided to bleed the front again, thinking I had air in the whole system.
Seemed OK enough to me, till MrsCrzy gets in, stomps the pedal and says "oh no, this is just what they felt like right before they quit last time. She went to go get a master cylinder....

Re: Brake hose replacement turn bigger...
Update, Changed MC, bled whole system again. Now I had pressure at the offending wheel, (passenger rear) but I did closely inspect the proportioning valves when I had old MC on the bench. The springs were corroded, and they were full of black sludge....hmm.
Flushed with brake cleaner, blew dry with compressed air, reassembled. She says it brakes better now. I haven't drove it yet. Still have the rears to do yet. But now, I'm going to be hunting some new proportioning valves after seeing the old ones.
I guess I can't complain, we have always gave the brakes a lick and a promise before, maybe its high time for some major attention

Re: Brake hose replacement turn bigger...
Oh yeah! She had a front hose blow out a couple of years ago, and we had them changed at a shop while it was getting new CV joint anyways. So when she got in tonite and pushed the pedal, she said it felt like the morning the hose burst, and hopped into the 95 to go get a MC before I could say much lol. She says they are better, so now its got totally new....ChilinMichael wrote:Stopping is kinda important
Rotors
calipers
pads of course..
brake hoses on all 4 corners
and a new MC tonite,
This weekend (hopefully) all new rear brakes. At least stopping will be handled for awhile
