"The 2004 Z16 Commemorative Edition was equipped with a carbon fiber hood, saving an additional 10 pounds of weight. Other unique characteristics of the Z16 (Commemorative Edition Z06) are the polished aluminum wheels, special paint color and striping, and commemorative-edition badging and wheel center caps. The Z16 also received shock damping tuning for improved handling. The Z16 option accounted for the majority of Z06 Corvettes in 2004, totaling 2025 units, with 325 units shipped overseas."01bonneSC wrote:So whats diff about a CE? Just paint? Looking good! How's radio reception?
Re: Time to let the secret out...
Still really good. I didn't notice a difference, although I have not driven it around much to see what its like in different areas.
Either way, I hardly listen to the radio and that stock antenna was an eyesore.

Re: Time to let the secret out...
I can't believe they still use a whip antenna like that considering the Bonneville got the in-windshield antenna in 2000.

Re: Time to let the secret out...
I'm guessing they didn't want to change the body molds to accommodate a new antenna halfway through the production run, and just changed it for the 05's.
Bye Bye:

Really nice Vette!
Drive safe and don't hurt yourself or even worse don't scratch the paint!
You can't beat a true antenae for reception. The in window units just don't pick up as well, IMO.
My Jeep and the 94 Grizz both have a power antenae and either beats the 00 receptive qualities.

Re: Time to let the secret out...
Based on the recent pictures Mick took, it looks as though I need to power wash the interlock and replace the outdoor lights.
Must add that to the list of things to do, funny how it keeps growing.
The Vette has been plated and insurance is on as of tomorrow, wouldn't you know it, rain for the next couple days. So much for the first ride on a nice sunny day.

Re: Time to let the secret out...
Paul, both my car and my friend's Nova (72) with antennas in the windshield get way better reception than standard antenna'd vehicles....

Re: Time to let the secret out...
It depends on the antenna setup, certain cars have dual (front and back windshield)
