Stopping back in again

Post by JimmyFloyd »

Well, was an active member and one of the original members of this place. Life got busy for the last while, so i kinda dropped off, but figured i would stop by. No longer own a bonneville, and am cleaning my garage out, so i figured I'd see if anyone wanted some parts before I scrapped them.

As for me, life has been busy. Bought a house a year and a half ago. Been working on getting that to where I wanted it. So far it's coming along nicely. Got a bunch of projects planned.

As for my bonneville, I sold that last spring. I had my Integra to drive, and was wanting to get into a different project, so it just made sense to let it go. With the money I got from than and some savings, I bought a 1970 Chevy Blazer 4x4. 350/4spd. motor was rebuilt recently, new clutch and brakes. Body work started, but some will have to be re-done. That will be this summer's project is getting started on that.

After getting that, I also came into a 98 Olds Intrigue with the L36. Was going to drive it after replacing the gaskets, but the tranny went, so i ended up selling it.

With that sold, I started picking up parts that I needed for my blazer. In looking for parts, i happened upon a 1970 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban for cheap. Went and picked that up with my father's help. It was a 350/th350, all original, but very rusty. It was decided it would be a parts truck. I started parting the truck, and have a lot of it done. Just have to finish getting the drivetrain and front end off, and then it'll be headed to the scrap yard (unless someone wants it)

With the Suburban being stored at my parents, I happened to come into a 95 Explorer 4x4 sport for dirt cheap, and planned to use that to haul parts back and forth. unfortunately, it needs a flexplate. Was going to fix it, but had a friend offer me a decent amount for it as it sits, so I decided to let it go. He should be picking that up soon.

And lastly, I decided finally that I needed a newer car since my acura started needing some major maintenance, so I figured I would see if I could sell it first before trying to fix it. Put it up and had it sold in 3 days for full asking price. That left me without a car, so I looked around and decided to pick up a 2007 Saturn Aura XR. My girlfriend just recently bought a 2007 Pontiac G6 V6, so I knew I liked that size vehicle, and liked the options the saturn had. After some financial adjustments, i managed to get the saturn for less a month than I was paying on a previous loan, which I paid off with money from the acura.

And that leads me to right now. I currently live with my GF and our dog. I've got my project, and hopefully soon will be rid of the explorer and suburban so I can focus on it. I am also starting to clean out my garage in preperation for starting the work on the blazer.

it's good to see that there are still a lot of familiar faces, and things are ooing well for people. I'll be hanging around and helping where i can.

Thanks guys. i kept meaning to stop back in, but the daunting taks of reading through all the old posts had me not doing it. Finally I decided it had been long enough that I could just re-read whatever i missed since most of it would be new. Sure enough, 27856 unread posts. Won't be making a lot of those.

I'll try and add some pictures here once I get a chance. Might be able to today. Going to be getting more parts around in the garage and list them up. Hopefully I don't have to toss anything.

Good to see a lot of people here still have their Bonnevilles.
