Ya I probably should have put it in the "Your Rides" section and not the other rides section but whatever.

Depends how often I can get there to work on it. I am helping with removing certain trim and what not plus adding some hood vents, my guess is around a month.

Ok got the new Cam, Valve springs (with retainers, keepers, and guide seals.) Also a new timing chain and tensioner. Got the Aluminum oil pan and new pick up tube installed along with the front cover oil filter adapter (with intense high volume oil kit), and some other little things like seals and gaskets and what not. Ok here are some pics:
All the old stuff (some goes back in some doesn't)

Cam in

Thats it for tonight but I should get more done this week. I hope to have all but the S/C on by this time next week. I am waiting on a puller.

Great progress. I like your shop.
Have you done any porting in and out of the heads?

Thanks. At this point I have not done any porting. I have never done it before, but am thinking about some light porting....

Ya, if nothing else chamfer the edges and ensure symetrical and matched ports with no gasket intrusion that might create turbulence.

I think that is what I will do. I hear these engines benefit from that pretty well.

Re: 89 Lesabre T-type resto / L67 swap has begun
Got a little more done. I chamfered the intake ports for some better flow . I'm sure it wont be a huge difference but every little bit helps right? Also got a few more things bolted up. Pics:

Now try not to laugh and bash to much, this is my first try at this, and the pics don't do it justice, they are much smoother than they appear.

Looks like fun, are you painting the supercharger with the "crinkle coat" or anything like that?

Re: 89 Lesabre T-type resto / L67 swap has begun
Update:
Got the lower intake on

The pulley is the new 3.4 and the coating is VHT, hope to mount it up soon.
And I did not follow wilwrens process to a T because I did not disassemble the SC because I do not have the tools, and I want to swap a Gen V next summer so I guess we will see how it holds up. But I don't think it is to bad for my first time. But thanks wiwren for the write up on it, will definitely use it on the Gen V
Thats all for today.

Re: 89 Lesabre T-type resto / L67 swap has begun
Ok went with the gunmetal like color, but the pics don't do the color justice. Anyway I am almost done, just gotta deal with all the vacuum lines, paint the alternator (get it apart first...) AC compressor, and wiring harness are the main things, then I have to move on to the trans. By the way what color should I paint the trans? Either aluminum like the front of my motor or Semi-gloss black like the motor, not sure, leaning towards black... So here are a few pics.

What do you guys think of the S/C emblem, to much? I was just testing it out...

till next time.

Great work there!
For the darker color IMO.
BTW I hope that air filter is a K@N and not one of those cheap subpar ones!
