This may seem stupid but.
Wouldnt i just be able to run the smallest pulley possible to buy.
And then dial it down until i have no knock with this?

No. Smaller pulley still produce more heat. In theory it will work, but not in the extreme case you're talking about. Notice that of the benefits, it doesn't list that you can run the smallest possible pulley size? And what if the unit fails and leaves you at full boost?

It's a neat little device, but not for the purpose you've suggested.

Okay.
Maybe not to that extreme.
But what about a 2.3-2.4?
I just dont want to have to buy a new pulley every once in awhile as mods allow. Id rather just buy one pulley and be done with it you know? But i get what your saying about the heat. I didnt think about that. It seems like something like this would work well with water/meth though. Pulley down slightly more than you can w/o knock. Dial down the boost till your knock free and when you get to the track turn on the water/meth and turn up the boost.
It seems like a good idea especially for us M62 guys who cant get a MPS.

Maybe not the smallest you can buy... but that looks interesting. There is a point where spinning it so fast will create enough heat to start dragging power down. Where that speed is, is dependent on setup. Without an intercooler, a 2.0" pulley, for instance, is smaller than you'd ever want to go, even though PulleyBoys sells smaller ones.

2.3" is about the smallest you'd want, I think.

Yeah i was thinking around that size?
I am just not sure if the amount of heat that would create would be detrimental or not?
I am certaintly going to look into it more.
But i have a couple other issues to address before i can seriously consider this mod..
That being said it looks hope full for the future.

Sadden, you don't need an MPS. It takes no more time to swap pulleys on a S1 as it does to swap on an MPS equipped S2.


EDIT:
I can tell you from experience, you won't be able to support even a 2.4" pulley without some more serious modifications than you have planned. Go to the 2.5" AFTER you get the car running right. The 2.4 will need at least rockers and ported manifolds (yes, the S1 manifolds can be opened up). You may need more than that as well. I did my mods in different sequences.

The one car that went to a 2.4 on a Gen3 M62 had KR and had to sell the pulley.
