DRL's on an Oldsmo-tanker and Fog Light Connection
Hi im back guys with my POS olds.
Im looking to turn my DRL's off. I know everyones gonna bash me and say READ THE FORUM. Well, the thing is, this isn't a bonneville haha. My circuitry looks a bit different. Can someone give me some directions for a 99 Oldsmobile LS?
Also, one of my fog's go on and off. If i knock on the glass it will light up sometimes. Sometimes it will be just on, and sometimes it wont. Does that mean its a bad bulb or the connections bad?

There's a DRL resistor behind the PCM tray in front of the horn. If you disconnect that it may make the DRL quit. I'd check to make sure it's letting your low beams come on regularly.
Your foglight sounds like a fluky connector. Pull the light and check the connector is tight to the bulb.

Not in the PCM tray. The FSM has it to the right of the PCM tray as you're looking towards the back of the engine bay, tucked up in front of the horn.
My Buick uses high-beam DRL through a different mechanism, otherwise I'd snap a picture for you.
If you still can't find it, let me know. I'll grab a picture of my FSM's illustration.

your fog light is all a bad connection, happened on both mine and jovans after the swap,

Wouldn't be the first time the factory service manuals have things in the wrong spot. I'll look again in mine this evening.

I looked at my FSM's again, it says there's a resistor ahead of the horn on the drivers side fender, right by the body grounds. That could mean anything, though.
If I'm reading this right, there's a switch on the lamp control module for DRL on and off.
Alternatively, you could wire in a relay-equipped headlight harness to be activated off the headlight circuit while powering the headlights directly from the battery. That will bypass the DRL circuit if you wire the relay to be triggered off the headlight switch.
