Wow what a great project and as usual it looks great. Nothing like removing the heat from the engine compartment to extend the life of almost all components under the hood. Especially rubber and plastic parts.

FYI, with my high-speed fan override, I can blow leaves out of my vents (small dry leaves). During the hot summer months or on track days, I can see heatwaves coming from the vents if the car is sitting still.
Summer vent air temps (air coming out) easily break 200 degrees F.

I love the flush look but it looks like your fender may be getting scratched up in the second to last pic. I remember you were having problems with the hood checking. Will you be taking it to bare metal this time?

the fender really isn't scratched much at all, but i'll still run the polisher over it to make it look like glass again.
as for the checking, that was only in the center section, so all the stripping and filling I did there fixed that (on that side shown) other side was started today.

I can, but in the northern climate like this, it would crack the first winter due to the plastic and the metal expanding and contracting at different ratesharofreak00 wrote:can you fill in that tiny crack to make them look seemless? that would be sweet!

Actually, I think it looks better the way it is... that extra panel seam gives it the "factory" touch, like GM did it to start with.Peterg22000 wrote:I can, but in the northern climate like this, it would crack the first winter due to the plastic and the metal expanding and contracting at different rates
