crazy electrical problems started after water leak
I have a 2000 SSEI with a sunroof and last year I started getting water on driver side front and rear from roof leaking due to roof not seating (loose torx screws caused it to drop down some ). Not long after this my rear windows wouldn't go up then that night they went up and never down again, soon after this the pass front window/lock stopped working too. I also lost all dome/door lights and the driver info center shows doors closed even when they open and door locks dont work either. The drivers door lock/window is the only 1 that works and the sunroof works too. I wasted a bunch of cash on new/used modules and still had no luck. What is really crazy is that while swapping various modules in doors I checked for power with test light and I have power at each window and I can also make all 3 windows work by using test light to ground out the modules by touching contacts inside module cover. It has driven me nuts that I cant find out whats going on and I gave up on it last fall. Well after reading here in the forums I found some similar problems and solutions and figured I would ask for help. If anyone can offer advise on what to do next I would really appreciate the help.thanks

the drivers door master switch and module and all the door modules have been replaced and the rear window regulators were new 2 years ago. all the fuses are ok and the relays are ok. what i think is crazy is that i get power at each window and can work each window from the module at each window. thanks for the response and hope my info helps.i'll check back later

Re: crazy electrical problems started after water leak
Have you checked under the carpet and made sure there is no water there? Here is a post where there was a corroded wire under the driver's seat. Not the exact same symptoms, but when it comes to water and electric, funny things happen.

Re: crazy electrical problems started after water leak
there was water in back floor area and under carpet that i removed and dried out. im thinking of looking into wiring next but i will wait til it warms up some before i start digging into that.i do think its a ground issue since i can get the windows working by jumping contacts on back of window modules with my test light hooked to a ground source. i just dont know where to start looking first.

Just pop the back seat cushion out and reach under the carpet in the rear floorboards and see if it is wet.
Also, did you check out that other post? That would be a good place to start if you have water under the carpet.
