No cruise or reverse

Post by onesweetride »

Lost my cruise a while back. Someone said the reverse lights not working
is tied to this. What part is this? Anyone have a pic?

If the park, reverse, neutral safety switch is malfunctioning it can take out the cruise and reverse lights. It is mounted on the top of the transmission near the firewall. It is directly below the lever that the shift cable connects to. There are two electrical connectors that plug into it. It is made out of black plastic. The shift shaft runs through it a little off center. It is held down with two 13mm bolts. The bolt holes are slotted for adjustment. The shift cable and lever must be removed to replace it. Its all located beneath the brake master cylinder.

I didn't have a picture, so I tried a thousand words...but ran out of literature.

Replacing the neutral safety switch is not too hard. It takes very few tools and about 30-60 minutes.
