Windshield Washer Line

Post by LeSabre in Buffalo »

So the windshield washers take a dive on my car today. I refill with the jug of winter blend, and hear a waterfall sound. The line going from the washer pump to the washer nozzles had popped off the pump. It wasn't staying in the rubber connector, even after jamming it in there. I'd hit the washers and have it pop off again. So I stuck a tiny hose clamp on there, and problem solved (I hope). The washers haven't worked this well in ages! Sprays right over the car, and covers the entire windshield.

There's probably a better way to solve this. The hose clamp works and was free.

Happened to me a few weeks ago

A zip tie did the trick, it's been good so far.

It's an ant-tailgater measure. If they jerk and back off, they were too close.

Also, don't forget about not using the washers with an open sunroof below 15mph :sad5:

LOL. No sunroof here, don't have to worry about that! ;-)

Good idea about the ziptie. There's one of those around the bend from the hose clamp holding the connector onto the pump.

Did the exact same thing, zip tie, about a year ago. Had washer fluid dripping all over my shoes when putting the zip tie on, but oh well.
