1996 Firebird Headlight Trouble

Talk about the other 3800 powered GM cars, particularly for items not covered in other sections that may be unique to your year/model, and differ from a Bonneville.

1996 Firebird Headlight Trouble

Post by Bob N »

Any thoughts on why my wifes passenger side headlight on her '96 Firebird makes a very loud noise when she closes the door? This has been going on for quite some time and sounds as thought the motor that closes the door continues running for 5 seconds after the door closes. Since she dosen't drive much at night it hasn't been too annoying. but it's starting to bug me and her.

Needs a headlight motor. Fairly common problem.

Hey Plum Crazy Rob, thanks for the info. Sorry it took me a while to see your post, but it's a great way to fix the problem.
Thanks again.

This was so easy, I couldn't believe it! I wonder how many people have been told they
need a new motor? Thanks again.
