project: 2000 SSEi (more pics)

I paid $2000 for it, plus about $500 in fees (CoPart).

Out of curiosity, what was the $500 for? I've thought about flipping cars on the side as well, but need more capital before I can think about doing it.

Here is a video of the first startup and the exhaust, and another startup. Ignore the intake hiss, I haven't put a stock airbox in yet, and the first thing I did was take out the water-logged Spectra air intake.

Here is yesterdays work.

Carpet was a little dirty, but not horrible.





Found some standing water under the drivers front and rear.






Found some underbody neons… took them off. Not sure what color they are yet.




Trunkwell cleaned up.


Carpet before cleaning. I took it to the carwash yesterday and I’ve had it hung up drying ever since. I hope it to be dry by this afternoon or tomorrow.

Yeah, for some reason, considering the new owner, I'm not seeing that lasting very long. I want to see the "after" pics of that carpet! You are, hands down, the master of cleaning the interior of cars. I'm honored to have come close to a Haro job on my wife's 01 GP before this year's WCBF, but I only took the seats out, I didn't take out the center console or pull the carpet out of the car.

You locate where the water was coming in from by the driver front and rear?

I need to have the front bumper and fender painted regardless, so having the hood done at the same time would be best.

I haven't located the leak yet, but my suspicion is the door watershields. The last owner told me the rear window regulators don't work and they he has vicegrips in there. I'm assuming that he didn't seal up the watershields when he did the repair.

The carpets are ALMOST dry, but I think I'm gonna wait another day just to be sure.
