Radiator type intercooler
so what is it an addiction i love this car. but was interested in the performance enhancing aspect of this car since i am so new to it. i have been looking around and i found an intercooler from intence racing and was wondering how this works since the air being forced into the motor is coming from the peice bolted on the intake and not a turbo. sorry was a bit of a rice lover but the supercharger is frkn sweet. please educate.

Re: Radiator type intercooler
The intercooler is placed between the Lower intake manifold and the supercharger. It is meant to cool the compressed air from the SC as it goes into the engine. It is then plumbed to a liquid to air cooler.
So, in the engine it is a air to liquid cooler and the outside is a liquid to air (in respect to the heat transfer). In a turbo set up, they use an air-to air cooler. They are cooling the charged air externally to the engine (or intake manifold).

Its one of the last things on the agenda, IMOP because your making the air charge more dense as your cooling it. Make your engine breathe/flow then add a plate and core & fmhe. But don't get me wrong their are gains from an aftercooler.

I agree with Larz01. I would rather cam, etc. before using an intercooler. It does have benefits, just need the airflow, etc, to make it worthwhile.

Re: Radiator type intercooler
I believe an intercooler would benefit even a stock car, but yes the benefits on a modded one would be greater.
