Does anyone know where I plug this RED plug into? It's not the greatest photo, but here goes:

It's on the Passenger side, toward the corner of engine compartment firewall about a third to halfway down, behind the belt tensioner heater hose pipes. Comes out of the cable wrap going over the valve cover.
It's a female connector which will accept 2 inputs. I simply can't find where it plugs into. Everything is accounted for in that area.
I don't know if it's ever been connected. Noticed it when I did the rear spark plugs.

Actually, that's technically a male connector...kinda bad when you ponder the design for a few minutes... :sad5:
It looks like it's been hanging out loose for quite awhile, so if you don't see any obvious female plugs hanging around, I'd say it's an unused plug for some option you don't have. They use the same wiring harness for cars with a wide range of different options, motors, etc....

to me it looks connected (to that blue piece). It looks like there's a wire coming off of each side, but it's hard to tell with the small pic.

The blue piece is the back side of the plug.bonnevillain wrote:to me it looks connected (to that blue piece). It looks like there's a wire coming off of each side, but it's hard to tell with the small pic.
Have you even had it scanned for codes? If it is something important it would probably show up, but might not set a SES light.

Re: Unknown, Unconnected Plug
Thanks for the input. I don't have any overt symptoms (no codes, etc), so I guess it's not used. Probably for an option I did not get on this car. Thanks again.
