yes.. thats my new project.. got a good deal on a center tail light off a cadillac catera in calgary.. it was about $55.00 canadian shipped.. so not bad.. already paid for.. expecting it late this week..

im gonna try to do a write up about it too..

Sweet. That is one of my few complaints is the center section not lighting up. Looking forward to this project.

the plan is to have it as stock looking as possible.. so dimmed when tail lights are on and full on when i hit the brakes.. but i dunno if thats possible i have to see the wiring when it comes in..

looking at "1993 SLE" at bonnevillepro.com shows that he had the option to dim or full light it while it was off the car.. but he said he have to decided whether he should do it dimmed or bright.. (not sure why he cant do both)

I just cleared my front corners... Looks SICK on my black car.. Everything on the outside is black and chrome
My rims are black and chrome so is my head lights and my front pontiac emblem

Did anyone here or before tint/paint the trunk piece black? Or to matching his car?
I think that would like nice too on a black car...

so the catera light just showed up..


i took it apart... seems like its going to be an easy project... well not that easy.. i still didnt seee what the bonne center tail looks like
there are two sets of LEDs and two sets of reflectors.. i still didnt do any measurements... but they seem to be the same height, as for width.. still not sure..

i might start on it tonight.. depends if it snows.. well it kinda started already

but here are some pics.. there are only 2 wires.. im not sure how did "1993 SLE" have 2 modes.. as in dimmed and bright.. could it be just dfferent voltage?

Gets really frickin cold here.. Like around 55 or 60 below.. That's when you freeze your ass off.. Can't be outside for more than 2 minutes

I wouldn't look at it in this perspective. I would rather think that its enticement for you to come up with your own path so that we end up with many roads instead of just one which may not even be the best route. Hopefully there will be a few ways to do this and then you can pick the best parts out and end up with 1 or 2 that work really well.

Plus it doesn't hurt to let him be the 'only one' for a little while.

i honestly dont care.. i was simply asking for some info not begging for it..

i mean if i do something on my car itll be an honor to show it to people and help them out... big example is installing my headunit on my GXP.. most people didnt know the difference in the wiring between Moonson and Bose.. and i figured it out after 3 weeks of hard work, testing wires, and buying 3 harness over 450 bucks and HUGE help from Darcy and his diagrams.. does it mean i hide it so i can be the "only" one with a nice double din? meh... to each his own
but i gotta admit.. i dont think i would have done anything or even thought of what would fit in there without looking at Pat's posts (he mentioned Catera somewhere)... i would like to thank him for it.. well if he answers.. i didnt even know the Catera's existed lol
