Over steering
Has anyone had any problems with this? I took the tires off today because I have a brake dragging so I bled the brakes. Well while I was down there. I noticed that my tires are starting to wear though the fender well. I have stock tires on. So it's not a over size problem. And The fender liner isn't loose. I did a test of moving the wheel each way to the max and it doesn't seem like the tires come close enough to hit. So maybe it's doing this on tight turns?
Any ideas off the top? Or just take it to a dealer or belltire or such place?

Re: Over steering
so you have a rubbing problem, not oversteer while driving? How hard do you corner?

Re: Over steering
Pretty common problem on the 2000+ body style. I think it has to do with the wind when you are driving at high speeds. I am also running OEM tire size and I installed new fender wells about a year ago. They are trashed already.

Re: Over steering
Make sure the fender push clips at the front bottom are connected firmly to the lower plastic valance. If not, the wind will deflect it into the tire and rub a hole thru it.
Ask me how I know.

Re: Over steering
Alright thanks guys. Yea most my wear is to the passenger side as well. My buddy lives in a trailer park so far anyone that drives through one knows you have to corner pretty hard. the street are narrow and barely allow for two cars.
But the wind deflection and such makes a lot of sense too. I'm almost positive all the pins are tight.
the only one that bugs me is the hard lefts. It starting to hit the medal.

Re: Over steering
What size are your tires.
I know because I removed my front lower plastic belly pan and the wind pushed the passenger fender liner into the tire and holed the liner so the washer reservoir was visible.
If you are hitting metal, either your tires are oversized or something else is not right.
How many miles on her?

Re: Over steering
Hmm, well those tires are standard 27" tall which are the same as mine so there should be no issues with clearance.
Check the steering linkage and ball joints for wear.
Something is making the tire move more than it should when under force during the turn.

Re: Over steering
Not all tires are sized equally either. For example Kuhmo 235 can be wider than a Goodyear 235.

Re: Over steering
This I didn't know but they are the stock tires that came with the car. New when I bought the car but they were replaced with the GoodYear eagles that come on it.
