New PB in the SSEi -- 12s FINALLY!!!

Post by TommyGloves »

After a couple years of trying to get my SSEi in the 12s, it finally happened last night at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI.

I got 8 runs in...6 of which were PBs from my previous from 2 years ago (13.260 @ 104.35)

Run 3: 1/8: 8.366 @ 85.06 1/4: 13.003 @ 106.11 with a 1.9 60' :bluetwitch:
Run 6: 1/8: 8.364 @ 86.54 1/4: 12.929 @ 107.78 with a 2.0 60' (best MPH)
Run 7: 1/8: 8.316 @ 85.93 1/4: 12.910 @ 107.13 with a 2.0 60'
Run 8: 1/8: 8.179 @ 86.24 1/4: 12.759 @ 107.39 with a 1.834 60' (best 60' & ET)

There is still some left in the tune. I hope to get some more out of it in the next month.

Also, special thanks to Dave Norris at Triple Edge Performance for his help this past year getting the bugs worked out. His trans is still holding up like a champ. :beerchug:

Sure....VS, GenV, TripleEdgePerformance P&P L32 heads and LIM, Stage II IC, 77mm N*/LQ4, 55# injectors, standard TOGS, 3" custom exhaust, 104s @.54, 4" FWI. The trans is a Dave Norris unit with 3.29s, upgraded TQ w/stock stall and ZZP hardparts.

I ran E85 with 19* of timing and 13-14psi with a 2.8. AFR was 11.8 (gas equivalent). I was getting some slight, steady KR <1* from 4600 - 4900 so I was trying to figure that out. I ran out of time to do any other tweaks. I did remove the spare and 60% full tank (I was afraid to run out of e85 from IL to WI. :P ) For traction I ran Hoosier QTPs on 16x6 wheels on the front. Stock tires on the back with the ELC jacked up.

Unfortunately, the last 3 runs (successively better) were essentially hot laps and then the lanes closed. It was good enough for the night.

Congrats Tommy. =D>

You broke into the 12's with a 2.0 60' ! That's amazing. Easy potential for some times lower than 12.7 with a 1.8 60'.

.....and it means more that you didn't need the laughing gas.

Tommy, it's awesome that you didn't have to spray windshield washer fluid into your motor to get into the 12's. :) Not only did you make it into the 12's, but your charging hard for mid 12's. :beerchug:

Yeah, this is awesome. I'm pissed you beat me to it, but so it goes.

12.9 with a 2.0 60's is crazy. If you would have run the 1.83 60 during that run you would have easily ran 12.6 IMO. Now I want to go to E85. Closest station to me is 110miles away though.
