working on putting 4 10'' ev's on my rear deck of my 95..

Post by 88bonnsse »

for those that dont know already.. ev's are midrange voice speakers..

i am working on putting 4 on my rear deck of my 95..

i had 2 10'' ev's and 2 8'' beymas already but now i am switching up...

4 10's on the rear deck n 2 10's on the rear doors and 2 8's on the front doors..

pics will come as i progress...

i have to redo my rear deck lid again.. probally gonna stay with the original grey carpet look..

and i always use my trusty dremil to cut any metal on the car with the dremil ( 9903 ) tungstene metal cutting engraving bit.. its the best for the job.. i even use it on plastic and it works beautiful...

you can see the red circle i outlined to fit the other 2 10'' speakers..

and i forgot to take pics of under side of the rear deck lid as i used the back of an old dressor and cut ot to shape and liquid nailed it to the decklid so i can cut the holes to fit the speakers and support them..... works great..

aw man are you right....... its a real pita as i cant get my dremil straight due to the rear window and the fact that the sub box is built in to the trunk and cant be removed unless broken...

it really bites.. it took me about 45 minutes to cut each of the holes so far.. also leaving time for the dremil to cool off..
i have 2 dremils so i switched while one was hot i used the other...

well here is a lil update.. i finished cutting out the 2 end holes where the stock 6x9's were..

so now i put all 4 10'' speakes on the rear deck just to test fit and get some ideas..

i still have to redo my rear deck so that all 4 10's sit flush like the 2 middle ones do..

right now they are sitting in the holes i made but they are under the rear deck and fit perfectly without being noticed..
especially of i put the stock 6x9 grills back on..

but its not staying like this..

the first 3 pics are of the 2 end holes that i just cut out and the of the 2 middle holes that i made a while back..

more pics to come soon.. very soon..

and also the 2 end holes sit a lil hoigher then the 2 middle ones not for looks but because i had to watch out to not cut the trunk support or the part where the trunk hinges bolt to.. see pics..

((((((((((((((((((((( here are the 8'' beyma speakers on my front doors... again they are not staying like that..they will be getting fiberglassed into the door panels as soon as i get 2 more to put next to the exsisting 2 already mounted...))))))))))))))))))
((((((((((( and yes the 8'' beymas are flush with the door panels as well.......))))))))))))

when im done with the top of the rear deck that i have to make then i will be making a lil enclosure to just barely fit over the 4 10's from under neath inside the trunk and i will mount it up to the decklid..

enclosure is not really needed much sound wise as the trunk will act like the enclosure..

but the enclosure is needed for protection so the air pressure from the 4 15'' l7 subs in the trunk dont blow thru the speakers and rip them apart..

i got everything all thought out already... im sure i may have missed something but i pretty much have it all planed out on paper first before i do anything... :beerchug:

i love my bass... i dont mean anything wrong by the following comment but
( if i were def i would still have subs in my car... i just love the way it feels......)

but yeah the tens are for my voice...

it would not be a bad idea to fit 4 10'' subs on the rear deck for massive bass and still have all the trunk room...

EV is ElectroVoice. Known for PA speakers, like for music venues and such. Looks like some band is missing there PA equipment. And I think he stole the 8" ones from my home stereo speakers. Still gonna be loud as Hell!

Cant wait to hear a sound clip of your entire system once its done. Learn to drive without a rearview mirror, my system is puny compared to yours and it still shakes it loose

I REALLY want to put my 2 IDQ 10's in the deck of my 02 SSEi, but the project seems to keep moving back. I'm not sure how to go about it. I'll have to use gas struts to raise the lid because the springs will be in the way, then I'll have to make fiberglass enclosures for the drivers and reinforce the deck for a good baffle. Probably beyond my level of patience and ability, but we'll see.

Right now im in the process of changing my system but I have 2 Audiopipe 6.5's and 2 Audiopipe 6x9's on a 4 channel audiopipe amp for mids and highs. Along with 3 1600 Lanzar Max subs in a vented box. The subs are wired down to 2.4 ohms and get about 700 watts a piece
