I just do it every 3k miles, ends up being about every 6 months. I don't have a DIC that tells me when my oil needs to be changed :-#

Speaking of which... I need to do it.

I like saving money...AMSOIL...15,000 or 1 year, whichever comes first (would be 25,000 but I am considered severe service)

The 1990 is 99 percent in town. Never sees above 40mph much anymore so its ever 2k or so. It has 211k so its getting dirty faster than it used to.

Before I sold the other 1990, it was seeing 300 miles a day or so highway use, so it was every 5-6k and it was still pretty clean at changes.

The 1995SE may see highway use, so we will just have to see how it gets used. Still ironing out bugs

10w30 Wal Mart or Valvoline depending on my mood and PF47 filters all around

For me it's every three months. Of course, that translates into ~6000 miles. As well I use Mobil 1 synthetic.

I use the oil life on the ’00.
For those that do let it go this long, I was wondering how much oil you use between oil changes.
I average 1 to 1.5 quart when there are no external seals leaking.

Every 5000 on the 89 and the Ranger, they both get lucas every other change, the ranger runs havoline 10w30, and the 89 gets valvoline max life.

The 01 and the 04 get mobil 1 full synthetic and a full checkup at the dealer (because I know the service mgr and she gives me a break =D> ), when the oil life system says so.

since I got my manifold gaskets and V/c gaskets done I don't loose very much at all. I wouldn't use the oil life unless I was using synthetic, it waits too long for dino oil in IMO. you might want to run some lucas engine oil stabilizer with a few changes and see if it helps with your oil consumption.

Between 6k-7k miles on half synthetic. I got my oil analyzed when I changed it after 7k miles and it came back good, so I see no point changing it any earlier... Oh, and if I do it myself, I use Mobil 1 oil and filter, if I have it done by someone it's always Napa oil and filter (wix).

Intrepid - Quaker State 5w-30 (I think) with a Purolator filter every 3k (Haven't even put 10 miles on it, LOL)
Durango - Mobil 1 5w-30 Full Syn with a K&N Filter, every 5k.
Rambler - I have no clue right now, but I will be putting Mobil 1 Conventional in it with a Wix filter.
Buick - No clue also, but will also get Mobil 1 Conventional with a Wix filter.

4-5k on both the S10 and the Buick. Neither use a drop of oil between changes. (156k on the Buick, 58k on the truck)
