Feels like I am limping...

Ok, some may remember that I had been talkikng about a clunking sound in the front end of the '05 SE and the other day I was in stop and go traffic and it felt like I was limping down the road. Like the wheel was out of round or something. Any ideas what would cause this to happen? I am pretty sure the two are related...the clunking and the limping! Thanks all and have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

2000 SSEi (Silver Eagle) cleared corners (before accident) new LIM gasket, drilled 180 T-stat, new plugs and wires, new valve cover gaskets, new Supercharger gasket, third brake light overlay. Hopefully soon to start more mods for performance. Also, 2005 White SE totally stock and will remain that way!

Broken belt in tire, a good possibility
Jack the car up and spin the wheel
Usually will get a high spot on one side of the tire or the other

We had a van that came in with a wobble that had a belt broken off inside and was flat-spotted. Make sure lugnuts are tight, and rotate the tires and see if it moves. If it does, it's a wheel or tire, if it doesn't, it's something on the suspension or in the tranny. I'd check the axles and hubs first.

To me it sounds like you have a loose rim, like stated above... check & tightn your bolts.

a limp and a clunk? maybe a tie-rod came loose or failed upper strut mount? better get that inspected asap.

Limp, either it was the road surface you were on, which is absolutely possible, or the belting is breaking down in the tire. Try it again on a confirmed SMOOTH road.

I had a strut mount fail over time on the GXP then it finally broke and left me stranded. Check the strut mounts for sure.
