Life sucks sometimes

Post by rique8405 »

So I came home from work and road with my fiance to get some subway. Gotta love a $5 footlong. Lol. So as we pull up I notice my back tire is completely flat. Its too late to go get a new tire or even have it fixed. Now my beautiful luxury sedan has to have a donut on intil the morning. I swear life sucks sometimes. And please dont think Im crazy. Just frustrated. LOL

Unless it was slashed or the sidewall got cut it'll patch up just fine.

Flat tires are my specialty, followed closely by broken rims. My Volvo is cursed.

I'm on my third set of rims on the Volvo, all by necessity. Broke one factory rim by hitting a rock on my dirt road. It was a flat rock, but by a one-in-a-million chance it flipped up when my front tire rolled over it, and my back tire hit it just right, compressed the tire enough to puncture the RIM from the inside!! Replaced all 4 rims with after market (Enkie) for less than the cost of one OEM rim.

March '08 hit a pothole (paved road this time) and blew out both right side tires and broke both right side after market rims. Bought 2 new rims, and tires

Feb '09 (not even a year later) hit a pothole (paved road again) and blew out both right side tires and broke both rims. Had the doughnut spare and one of my OEM's on it to take it to the tire shop. Hit a pothole (paved road) and blew out the doughnut and broke the rim.

That's 5 rims and 5 tires in one year. Michigan roads (Oakland county especially) and 17" rims with lo-pro tires don't mix well. I couldn't imagine trying to tip-toe around on 20" rims.

Well i got it my tire fixed. I went to a Mr Tire. He said my rim was corroded and that it needed to be cleaned and resealed so the air wouldnt leak back out. I knew I needed new tires before the winter but the guy is saying I need rims too. I was planning on getting some 18s soon but wasnt gonna rush. I called my uncle who does all the work on my car and teaches me how to do it myself, he sd that it wasnt as bad as the man said. But Im still going to the store to pick out rims and tires on Tuesday not. Yesss. So now I have to hurry and get my pics posted so I can show the before and afters. I also have to take the time out to learn how to make a sig.

At work we have a grinder with a wheel buffing attachment on it, and it cleans and helps wheels re-seal. It's mounted so you turn the wheel and grind at the same time. See if they can do anything about it. Which wheels do you have, the gray straight spoke 5 spokes or the chrome bent spokers?

Why on earth did the guy say you need rims? Its only an 02 with some corrosion, I second 00Beast and the corrosion will just come off with a wire wheel type attachment and seal up with this goopy goopy bead sealer( http://www.autobarn.net/beadsealer.html ). 90s and early 00s Ford were known for this. Ive fixed a bunch of em. unless you want to get new rims now, i say just tell em to clean em off and seal.

Sounds great. Lol. I had them clean the one rim. I'm gonna have to get the rest done so I can just see the condition there in. But I'm really looking forward to getting new rims.
