Swapping Factory HU's

Post by CorbinDallas »

For those of you who have swapped factory Delfi HU's that needed the Tech2?

Did you have to utliize the Tech2, BEFORE the display would show?

Just pick up a direct GM replacement CD/Cst for my 2000 [no steering controls], but I get no display [I do get all lighted buttons, just not on the main screen>. I did come with the replacment VIN> blinking theftlock with key off, steady with key on
did I get a defective unit?
Thanks

Yes the display screen should light up regardless. I think it displays "LOCKED". Sounds like you got a unit with burnt out display bulbs. Where did you get it?

FL-eabay,
discountOEMradio store, they said they would send return auth form, but have not yet
I read the bulb replacment thread, would rather have unit replaced/refunded> just trying to confirm with others first

Yes, it will need to be unlocked with a Tech II. Shouldn't cost more than $30 at a dealer.

but will it work with the display not visible ?
wonderin if it is realistic to have it setup by Tech2 to see if everthing works then try to replace the bulbs?
