Need some help with my fogs

Post by lovemybonne »

Thanks for looking.. I am a new owner of a 92 Bonneville SE and this is my first post as a member. My fogs on my Bonneville don't work. I replaced the bulbs hoping that would fix the problem but they still did not turn on. I did turn the car on and had the low beams on. I was thinking maybe the fuse so I looked at the fuse box but couldnt find the fog light fuse. I looked on the passenger side fuse box but I have no idea which fuse is for what as I don't have the fuse box cover with the manual for what fuses are for what. If anyone can please tell me where the fuse is and exactly which one runs the fogs, that would be great!! Maybe even a picture will help greatly if its no trouble. Thanks!

Question number 1 - Is the foglight switch on? (Its located on the dome light plate btw...and I'm not being smartasstic about it...it's genuine troubleshooting!)

I can't think of where the fuse is at the moment, but the relay for it is on the passenger side of the car, under the hush panel, and up.
2005 GXP - White Gold Pearl, no mods...yet.
2000 SSEi - Resurrection in progress. Built L67 w/L32 fuel rail, ported heads, and cam. Camaro front brake system, GXP cluster, and much more in planning.

Yeah I turned the switch on. I see a light on one side of it, does it turn on if the fogs come on? It never turned on when I flipped the switch. Do you know what relay it is?

Yes, the light on the foglamp switch should come on when the fogs are on. Like Sandrock said, the fuse for the foglamps is above the passenger kickpanel under the dash. (There are two fuseblocks in the cabin, the other is above the driver's feet) Should be a 15 amp in position #2. The relays are in the same place. The relay that turns the foglamps on is in position G, and the relay that turns them off when the High Beams are on on, (by cutting the ground from the coil in Relay G) is in position C.

Sorry for no pictures....left my camera at work.

Thanks for that link! I got my fogs working now. Just had to replace a relay. What are the best foglights? I have Silverstars in right now. They don't look bad but is there any that are better?

Most people use cyberwhite navigator housings with a bulb of their choice.

I have a set unused missing 1 bracket housings along with unused silverstar bulbs for them if youre interested?

I didn't like the blue tint with my color car.
