DTV converter for car?

DTV converter for car?

Post by HurstGN »

Anyone else looking for or found a good DTV converter to use in the car? I have a Rockfoed RAV-DVD1 and a Rockford RAV-DVD2 and neither are DTV capable. I asked Rockford and because the units are over 4 years old, they have 0 intent on supporting the DTV switch coming.

So, anyone have one they recommend for the 12v environment?
Thanks,
Dan

I wouldn't worry about it for now... The changeover was just postponed as of today

It'll happen, the only reason it was postponed was because they couldn't get the coupons out to everyone that needed them. I bet it'd happen by June, that gives them plenty of time...

Postponed or not, by in-car DVD players are going to become much less useful when this does happen. So I'm still looking for a solution.

Folks,

You're in luck. I work for a company named "Accele Electronics" (website www.iatft.com) We have a Digital ATSC tuner in stock and ready to ship. I'd be happy to forward you're information off to one of our distributors and have them supply you with this unit.

Just a little note, ANY TV signal is more of a "line of sight" thing, so when you're moving it's not going to be so great (even more so with digital) as a warning. The picture will be awesome standing still though!

These actually receive tv signals or do they just play DVD's?

Nevermind, I looked them up. That's pretty cool.

Ah, Accelle to the rescue. I forgot to check their offerings. I'll check with my distributor and see if they're carrying this unit. If not, I'll be coming your way. THANKS for the heads up.

you can also use a regular converter box because the only require 12v power to run them check this out
